The spark which started Ember Creative was a university final project I completed during my first year of University. After working 14 years in print industry, I decided to go back to school and chase my dream.  I then began pursuing my bachelors in Graphic Design at Southern New Hampshire University.

 

The idea for Ember was inspired from a tech and art class research project,  where I found inspiration from laser graphic artist like Gabriel Schama. After some class training in our school maker space, I made my first laser cut wood piece for a class final. While making the piece, I both started a creative fire in myself as well as a literal one in the laser cutting machine.

 

After we extinguished the small blaze and let the smoke clear, I cleaned up quite the mess.  Fortunately, I was able to complete the project on time and without any further incident. After that rich experience paired with learning the process,  I fell in love with the new medium. I've been working hard to learn the ins and outs of the machine and avoiding starting fires ever since.

 

After graduating in 2021, I needed to figure out my future direction as a designer. That's when I decided to purchase my first co2 laser in 2022 and started Ember Creative. Looking to expand my knowledge and skill in the laser made medium and creating new possibilities with laser made artwork.
