This 36 pack sunglass and eyeglass shelf is my first official custom design project for Ember Creative. My client found me online on Etsy where I started officially selling some of my products.
I received a direct message from her about doing a much larger rendition of one of my sunglass and eyeglass shelves for her partner. She said he was a serious sunglass aficinato with a sizable collection who needed something that could accommodate all his pairs of shades. My largest shelf at this point only could hold ten pairs, which in this case wasn't going to be sufficient...

It took some time and calculations to figure out the largest size which my Muse laser could handle, and this was the biggest I could go. I provided my customer with the shelf specs and estimated price and waited to hear back from her.
Within a week I heard back and she was happy with the price, spec, and time frame of the project. Then she gave me the green light to go!
I got to work on the project promptly due to fact I had to start the vector design from scratch. Though the shelf was similar to my previous design, there were new elements that needed to be figured out. Ultimately I got the design complete and did some testing on the key junctions to ensure a proper fit. Now it was on to the fabrication and finishing.
The back plate of this piece is still the largest functional piece I have ever cut with my Co2 laser. It stretched the entire work area of my current machine leaving little wiggle room. These are the times that get a bit nerve racking... but it got cut out clean and without a hitch. The finishing and assembly for this project was also one of my longest to date but was worth every minute. The end result was one of a kind sunglasses shelf built for a true true collector.
